About Qwith LLC

Qwith LLC is a one-person front-end engineering practice in Austin, Texas. I do design systems, performance, and accessibility — and deliberately nothing else. The person you talk to in the first email is the person who writes the code, because there is nobody else.

01 // Who

One person. That is the whole org chart.

01

Background

Fourteen years, last six solo

Previously a staff engineer on a design system used by 200+ engineers. Now independent: I write the code, run every discovery phase, and answer every email myself.

02

Accessibility

IAAP-certified

Every accessibility engagement starts with me sitting in on testing sessions with assistive technology users. That is where the findings automated tools miss actually come from.

03

Keeping it honest

Budgets in CI

I build the performance and accessibility gates that stop the work decaying after I leave, and spend an unreasonable amount of time reading flame graphs.

02 // How I work

Six things I commit to in writing

rule.01

You own everything

Repositories, design files, documentation, from day one. No licensing, no retainer hostage-taking.

rule.02

Fixed price per phase

Quoted after a paid discovery sprint. You can stop cleanly at any phase boundary without penalty.

rule.03

A deploy every Friday

From week one. If there is nothing to show on a Friday, you get an explanation instead of a status update.

rule.04

I say no

If your problem is not one of my three, the first reply says so and names someone better suited.

rule.05

Handover is a phase, not an email

Documentation, a recorded walkthrough, a pairing week, and 30 days of no-cost bug support.

rule.06

Four business hours

Every message during a project gets a reply inside four business hours. Same as the first one.

Response time promise. First reply within 4 business hours, always inside one business day — before, during, and after an engagement. Average first response across the last 90 days: 1h 47m.

03 // The studio

Austin, Texas

I keep a small studio on Congress Avenue. Central Texas clients get on-site workshops, pairing days, and user-testing sessions at no travel cost — it is a twenty minute drive to most of downtown.

About two-thirds of my work is remote, across North America and Europe. I hold a four-hour overlap window with any client timezone, and everything important gets written down rather than left in a call.
