FiveQuestions

Asked often enough to be written down. Choose one, and the compass will take its bearing.

Q.01What exactly does Qwith make?

Software, mostly for the web and for servers. Some of it we build and keep as our own instruments; the rest we build to order for people who need something made carefully.

Our own tools are listed on the Software page.

Q.02Do you take on custom work?

Yes, a few commissions a year. We keep the number small on purpose, so that each one gets our full attention. Write to us with the problem rather than the solution, and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.

If we are not, we will usually know who is.

Q.03How long does a project take?

As long as it needs, and not a week more. Most commissions run between six and twelve weeks. You get a schedule before we start, and we tell you early if anything moves.

Q.04What happens after launch?

We stay. Every instrument comes with a period of care after it ships, and we would rather fix a small problem in March than a large one in December. Longer arrangements are available for those who want them.

Handover notes come with everything we build, so you are never tied to us.

Q.05Where are you based?

The workshop is small and mostly remote. We work with clients across time zones and meet in person when the work calls for it.
